The “Naivasha-Only” Era

For the first time since the WRC returned to Kenya in 2021, the Nairobi Ceremonial Flag-off and the Kasarani Super Special Stage have been scrapped.

The Reason: The shift to a “concentrated itinerary” is a direct response to the FIA 2026 Sporting Regulations, which aim to reduce liaison distances and crew working hours.

The New Start: The action now kicks off on Thursday, March 12, 2026, with a high-intensity Shakedown at the newly introduced Nawisa stage (near the Naivasha GK Prisons), followed by the competitive Mzabibu stage later that afternoon.

2. Meet the KCB Five: Kenya’s Racing Elite

KCB’s sponsorship includes a direct KSh 28.5 million kitty for its professional racing team. This year’s lineup represents a powerhouse of regional talent:

Karan Patel: The reigning African champion and the spearhead of the KCB attack.

Nikhil Sachania: The inspirational driver competing in a specially hand-controlled car, proving that motorsport has no barriers.

Tinashe Gatimu: One of Kenya’s rising female stars looking to make her mark in the WRC3 category.

Queen Kalimpinya (Rwanda): Continuing KCB’s regional push by representing the Rwandan rallying community.

Oscar Ntambi (Uganda): Adding the “Pearl of Africa” flavor to the team as the cross-border partnership strengthens.

3. “Revvvisha na KCB” — Banking on the Vibe

The bank is setting aside over KSh 98 million for fan engagement and marketing. The “Revvvisha na KCB” (Rev up with KCB) campaign is designed to blend the high-octane rally atmosphere with financial literacy.

The KCB Den: A massive fan zone in Naivasha that offers free entry to KCB customers, featuring live screens, music, and interactive simulations.

Economic Stimulus: By moving the entire four-day event to Nakuru County, KCB expects to stimulate higher local spending in the Naivasha hospitality and trade sectors compared to previous split-city formats.
