The Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS), a state corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture, is seeking to hire a qualified Accountant (Job Grade KEPHIS 6).
This role involves financial management, accounting, and reporting functions that support Kenya’s agriculture, trade, and food safety sectors.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain financial statements and management reports.

Oversee budget planning, monitoring, and expenditure control.

Process payments, receipts, and reconciliation of accounts.

Ensure compliance with the Public Finance Management Act and KEPHIS financial policies.

Maintain updated fixed asset registers.

Support internal and external audits.
-
Supervise junior accounting staff.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

CPA (K) or ACCA qualification.
-
Membership with ICPAK is mandatory.
-
At least 3 years of experience in financial management.

Knowledge of government financial systems and IFMIS.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
